Amanda Rickenberg - Morton Academy Coordinator

Thank you for visiting the homepage of Morton Academy! It is my privilege to be the Coordinator for Morton Academy. I look forward to serving the students and staff by fostering a warm, caring, nurturing and safe environment conducive to allowing students to learn and grow as individuals.

I am a Central Illinois native and was born and raised in Bloomington. I attended Illinois State University for my undergraduate work earning a Bachelors in Special Education Teaching with an LBS1 in 2007. After student teaching at Lincoln Elementary School here in Morton in the Fall, 2007 I was blessed with the opportunity to take a full time teaching role starting in the Fall of 2008. From 2008-2018, I taught in the Instructional Programs spanning the K-6 grade levels. Along the way, I earned an LBS2 and certificates in both Behavior Intervention Specialist and Curriculum Adaptation Specialist along with my Masters in Special Education in 2016 from Illinois State University. I am currently working towards the completion of a second Master’s in Educational Administration at Western Illinois University.

Having spent my entire professional education experience in Morton, I am passionate about our Morton School District and the success of our students and the role all stakeholders play in education.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with and continue to grow, Morton Academy through a partnership with both Guardian Angel Home and the Morton Community.
